Army jawan electrocuted on LoC

Poonch, Aug 19 (UNI) An army jawan was elctrocuted on Line of Control (LoC) in the Balakote sector of the border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.

Police sources told UNI that sepoy H K Boham of five Assam Regiment accidentally came in contact with electrified fencing during night patrol yesterday along the LoC and died on the spot.

Police party, on receiving the information, recovered the body of the jawan and handed it over to the unit before sending it for the autopsy.

To prevent infiltration of militants from across the border electric current runs across the wired fencing on LoC.

Inquest proceedings have been initiated under section 174 of CrPC in the incident.
