TRS forces adjournment of House on GO 610
Hyderabad, Aug 18 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for about 45 minutes as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) party demanded a debate on GO 610 stipulating repatriation of employees of other regions from the Telangana region.
Soon after the House met this morning, the TRS members rushed to the Speaker's podium demanding a debate on their adjournment motion on GO 610.
Though the BJP and BSP also demanded a debate on their adjournment motions on the state government's failure to tackle Chikungunya and crop loss due to the recent cyclone , it was the TRS which forced the adjournment of the House on GO 610.
Minister for Legislative Affairs M Rosaiah, appealed to the opposition members to abide by yesterday's decisions of the Business Advisory Committee.
TRS floor leader K Vijayarama Rao, BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy and BSP MLA Raja Rao urged the Speaker K R Suresh Reddy to allow a discussion on the issues demanded by them.
Janta Party MLA K Ramulu demanded a debate on his adjournment motion on setting up of Supreme Court Bench in Hyderabad and Bench sub court in his constituency, Metpally.
Obstructing the proceedings, the TRS MLAs rushed to the Speaker's podium and demanded discussion on GO 610.
Mr Rosaiah said the TRS should respect the decision of BSE and extend cooperation to run the House as per the agenda. He pointed out that the TRS had said in the BAC meeting that there was no need for discussion on GO 610.
Sharply reacting to the Minister's statement, the TRS MLAs demanded an apology from Mr Rosaiah. Holding placards demanding the implementation of GO 610, the TRS MLAs led by Nayani Narasimha Reddy rushed to the well of the House and obstructed the proceedings, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House initially for ten minutes.
It turned out to be a 45 minute break as the BAC met and decided that the debate on the flood situation shall be taken up today itself.
