Temple car fest in Pondy

Pondicherry, Aug 18 (UNI) Thousands of devotees from Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu today thronged the Shengazineer Amman Temple at Veerampatinam for the annual car festival.

Pondicherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy pulled the temple car and inaugurated the festival.

His cabinet colleagues, legislators and senior officals took part and offered worship. The car festival was usually inaugurated by the Lt Governor.

However, this year, since Lt Governor Mukut Miti was out of station, the chief minister inaugurated the festival.
