Tata Indicom announces walky STD rate at Rs 1.20 for 3 min

Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) Telecom service provider Tata Indicom today announced a new national STD tariff plan for its walky customers at Rs 1.20 for three minutes.

Tata Indicom Walky customers can now make STD calls to any other Tata Indicom walky phone across the country at this new rate where the pulse rate for a STD call is set at 180 seconds, which sets the call tariff at Rs 0.40 per minute - the lowest tariff offered at present by the operator, a company release here today said.

The unique proposition of this offer is that calls are applicable to all Tata Indicom walky phones across the country, in addition to inter and intra-circle calls.

Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) vice president (marketing) Ajay Mathur said, ''The introduction of this innovative and affordable STD tariff is an opportunity for our customers to avail the advantage of making STD calls at local rates across India.

It has been a constant endeavour at Tata Indicom to provide our customers the best services and products at the most affordable prices.'' Tata Indicom has a total customer base of over 3.8 million in wireless telephony market. Its walky numbers begin with 64 and 65, Mr Mathur said.

The company's other services like - 'Don't Stop Mobile' and 'Non Stop Mobile' have also been appreciated by customers.
