Sulphuric acid leak causes panic at Kakkanad
Kochi, Aug 18 (UNI) A leak from a tanker lorry carrying 8,000 litre of sulphuric acid to the Ambalamedu Plant of the Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) caused panic this morning.
The leak was noticed when the tanker lorry from the FACT's Udyogamandal Plant reached Kakkanad, police said.
Though fire services personnel rushed to spot and tried to plug the leak, they were unsuccessful.
Later, the acid was transferred to another tanker and the busy road cleaned with strong currents of water.
