Sensex down by 11 points at 11,466.62 in noon trade

Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) The BSE Sensex was 11 points down at 11,466.62 in the intra-noon trade as the metals, teck and banking scrips bore the selling pressure.

However, the benchmark heavy weights are still performing well and keeping the hope alive.

Midcap is currently up by 0.61 per cent and smallcap is up by 0.79 per cent.

Amongst the sectoral indices on the BSE, banking, teck and the metals sector were down, whereas the health care sector was up by 2.13 per cent.

Major gainers on the index are - Maruti Udyog, Cipla, Tata Motors, ACC, TCS and Ranbaxy, all up between 0.96 per cent and 1.92 per cent.

The losers are - Hindalco, Hero Honda, Reliance Energy, Bharti Airtel, Tata steel, Reliance Communications and L&T, all down between 0.82 per cent and 2.25 per cent.
