Phelps and Schipper break 200m butterfly world records
SYDNEY, Aug 18 (Reuters) - American Michael Phelps and Australia's Jessicah Schipper broke the world records in the men's and women's 200 metres butterfly at the Pan Pacific championships in Victoria, Canada.
Phelps swam a time of one minute 53.80 seconds to improve his own mark by 0.13 seconds yesterday.
Schipper's time was two minutes 5.40 seconds, 0.21 seconds quicker than the previous record set last year by Poland's Otylia Jedrzejczak.
