Navy disposes two boxes, no explosives found
Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) The Navy and the Western Command Coast Guards have disposed off the two ''suspected'' iron boxes seized by the Alibaug police as no explosives were found.
The Raigad police control sources said the Navy and Coast Guards disposed off the iron boxes yesterday.
The boxes which had spread panic, were spotted floating in the sea near Mandwa Digori Village in Raigad district on Wednesday.
Navy officials in its report stated that it is believed to be a material like 'Magnesium.' The material has been sent to Mumbai for chemical analysis.
Initially, Alibaug police had called a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) from Thane for inspection but the BDS team returned back without any concrete conclusion. Thereafter, the Navy and Coast Guards were called for examination, sources said.
