IT ministry to setup CSCs in one lakh villages
Aizawl, Aug 18 (UNI) The Information Technology Ministry has planned to setup Citizen Service Centre (CSC) in more than one lakh villages across the country as a part of the e-governance programme.
Senior scientist from ministry of communications and information technology S R Das told UNI that out of six lakh villages in our country about one lakh villages would soon have CSC, by which people would be able to know all the informations regarding government services''.
ILFS had been entrusted as the national level consultant and funding agency for the project, Mr Das said ''Each CSC would be connected to all the government departments and provide online data of all the services rendered, by the respective state government,'' he further added.
The Ministry had also decided to encourage private participation to setup these CSC in the selected villages, which would be appointed by the state government, Mr Das informed.
Mr Das, on his recent two-day visit to the state to monitor the programme, said the blue-print on CSC are ready for the formal Cabinet approval.
He also added out of the 18 states, which had proposed to take up the programme , Punjab, Kerala and Gujarat have already taken part and the NE would soon join the league.
