IAF plane to carry relief material to Lebanon

New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) India will send tents and blankets to Lebanon to help the civilians who had lost their homes in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

An Indian Air Force IL-76 aircraft will carry 25 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, the Defence Ministry said today.

The plane was scheduled to leave late tonight, the Ministry said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had announced Rs 10 crore in humanitarian assistance to Lebanon last month.

The IAF plane will also bring back Indian nationals from Lebanon on August 21, the Ministry said.
