Centre to include more tribal dialects in AIR news programme
Itanagar, Aug 18 (UNI) The Centre is considering the demands for inclusion of more tribal dialects in news broadcasting in All India Radio (AIR) in the entire NE region within the end of the current fiscal.
This was informed by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi, while replying a question raised in the Parliament recently by BJP MP from Arunachal Kiren Rijiju, informed official sources here today.
The minister informed that many tribal dialects have been successfully included in the direct news programme in the North East. However, he admitted that some tribal dialects were still left out.
Regarding expansion of AIR services, Mr Dasmunshi further informed that LPTs have been installed in many places and work were going on in Changlang, West Kameng, West Siang, Upper Subansiri, East Siang, Lohit, Lower Subansiri, Tawang, Tirap and East Kameng districts in Arunachal Pradesh, sources added.
