BJP welcomes move to separate judiciary from executive
Itanagar, Aug 18 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP has welcomed the state government decision to separate judiciary from executive in the state, as announced by Chief Minister Gegong Apang during his Independence Day speech on August 15 last.
In a statement here today the party hoped that with the establishment of session courts in various parts of the state, timely justice could be delivered to the people.
The party further appreciated the state government for its announcement to implement the Right to Information (RTI) Act in the state, and said the government should have constituted the 'State Information Commission' under the said act at the earliest.
The BJP also urged the state government for immediate constitution of the commission, besides bringing out activity manuals indicating receipts and utilisation of funds of all major and minor departments including state government undertakings, the statement added.
