Anil Mohile, Shrikant Moghe chosen for cultural awards

Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) Noted music composer Anil Mohile and veteran actor Shrikant Moghe are among the winners of the cultural awards instituted by the Maharashtra Government to honour excellence in the field of art and culture.

The awards were declared for the years 2004 to 2006. The winners will get Rs 51,000 as cash prize and a citation.

Every year twelve artistes from the field of theatre, music, Marathi films and folk arts like ''kirtan'', ''shahiri'', ''tamasha'' and dance among others are honoured.

Anil Mohile has been awarded for the year 2006 in the music category, cameramen Bal Apte for the year 2005 and Shrikant Moghe for 2006 in the Marathi cinema category. Baba Maharaj Satarkar will receive the award in the ''kirtan'' category for the year 2004.

The awards will be given away in Aurangabad on September 15, official sources said.
