SpiceJet ties up with travel portal for hotel bookings
New Delhi, Aug 17 (UNI) Low-cost carrier SpiceJet today announced a tie-up with yatraonline.com portal to provide hotel reservations.
The portal has arrangements with over 1,000 two, three, four and five-star hotels. The new site will search, select and book hotel reservations online before or after a passenger book a flight.
SpiceJet's chairman Siddhanta Sharma said the initiative will boost ancillary (non-passenger) revenue. ''Our ancillary revenue was 4.5 per cent on a turnover of Rs 420 crore last fiscal. We aim to increase this to seven per cent in current financial year.'' The airline flies to 13 cities within the country and has a fleet of six Boeing new generation B737-800s. It plans to add five more by year-end and have a total of 20 planes in the next three years.
