Ravinder Goud,Rashmi Kumari claim Gold medals in SAARC carrom

Panadura, Sri Lanka, Aug 17 (UNI) India's D Ravinder Goud and Rashmi Kumari bagged Men and women's singles title in the individual events of the 10th SAARC Carrom championship here last evening.

The men and women finals were an all India affair.

Ravinder Goud defeated Yogesh Pardeshi 25-12, 25-24 in a uneven title clash. However Indian team get shocked when P Sashidharan playing for Bronze lost to Chamil Cooray of Sri Lanka 22-25, 6-25.

In Women Section, Rashmi Kumari defeated defending Champion I Illavazhaki 25-13, 25-13. In play for third place P Nirmala defeated many times Sri Lanka Champion 0 Ameetha Wickramasinghe 25-0, 25-5.
