Rajasthan CM donates Rs one cr to Guj CM's Relief Fund
Surat, Aug 17 (UNI) The flood situation in the city is fast returning to normal.
The district administration has undertaken a massive cleaning operation with the administration pressing into service 7,000 sweepers and health workers.
About eight lakh kg of DDT and other disinfectants have also been sprinkled in various parts of the city, said an official release.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi, along with his senior Cabinet colleagues, is camping in the city to oversee the cleaning work.
South Gujarat Vij Company (SGVL) has restored power supply to 4,32,190 households of the total 4,33,290 domestic connections.
All the 12 sub stations of SGVL are functioning, including 89 feeders to its full capacity. With the 220 KV Ichchapore restored, the industry is expected to begin its operations soon. Torrent company is expected to restore all the domestic connections to the city by late evening today, the release said.
