Raja to lead SAF Games team
Chennai, Aug 17 (UNI) Striker V Raja has been named captain of the 18-member Indian team for the hockey competition in the South Asian Federation (SAF) Games to be held in Colombo from tomorrow to August 27.
The 18, picked by the IHF selectors from the Development squad, which had been having a camp at the astro turf stadium here, is as follows: Goal Keepers: P R Sreejesh, Gurpreet Singh. Defenders: William Xalxo, Raghunth, Muthuselvan. Mid Fielders: Ajmer Singh, Sunil Ekka, Senthil, Gurbaj Singh, Birender Lakra, Dhananjay Mahdik, Sardar Singh. Forwards: Sandep Michael, Vikram Kanth, Roshan Minz, Adam Sinclair, V Raja, Gurvinder Chandi.
Officials: Chief Coach: Clarence Lobo, Coach :Mohd, Riaz, Trainer: Gunasekaran K P R Gill, Doctor: Ravindra Kumar, Manager: Gyanendro Ningombam.
IHF President, who is also the Chairman of the selection committee and Secretary K Jyothikumaran announced the team here along with the squad for the senior world cup.
