Punj Lloyd bags contract worth Rs 823 cr
Mumbai, Aug 17: Construction major Punj Lloyd has won an order worth Rs 823 crore from Rajasthan Vidyut Utapadan Nigam Ltd, Jaipur on EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) basis.
Announcing this, the company's notice to BSE said the contract is for building up of 2x250 MW Chabbra Thermal Power Station, Rajasthan on a fast track basis.
The scope of work involved under this contract is complete mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil works. The company would be responsible for building up complete power station with the exception of main plant equipment. The contract is scheduled to be completed in 24 months.
This EPC contract is the single largest contract of the company as on date. This is also the largest order for Punj Lloyd group in this domain. Till now, the order backlog for power projects of Punj Lloyd group (including Sembawang Engineers&Constructors, Singapore) was Rs 3,860 million.
With this, the order backlog of Punj Lloyd Group (including Sembawang Engineers&Constructors, Singapore) is Rs 10,561 crore and this is the total value of unexecuted orders as of July 01, 2006, and new orders received till date.
