Peerless Group launches its first nursing college

Kolkata, Aug 17 (UNI) Peerless Hospital and B K Roy Research Centre, one of the largest referral hospitals in South East Asia, today launched a nursing college within the hospital premises.

Peerless group Managing Director Sunil Kumar Roy here said, ''Indian nurses are always in demand globally for their warm hospitability. Hence quality education is necessary.'' The college would start its two-years basic course and the intake capacity is initially thirty students, which will be increased later, he added.

He further said the candidates would be selected through Joint Entrance Examination. Being associated with the Peerless Hospital, the college would provide right exposure to the nurses, Mr Roy said.

A Master's programme will be launched next year.

''The college is affiliated to the Indian Nursing Council and West Bengal Nursing Council, along with several other councils. ,"he said.

Swami Jitatmanandaji was also present at the programme.
