Oppn forces AP House adjournment on opening day
Hydereabad, Aug 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Speaker K R Suresh Reddy adjourned the House for some time as the Opposition stalled the proceedings demanding an immediate discussion on the flood situation in the state.
Soon after the House assembled for the Monsoon Session, the Speaker said he was disallowing the adjournment motions tabled by the TDP, CPI, CPI(M), TRS, AIMIM and the BJP.
The entire Opposition persistently demanded the Speaker set aside the Question Hour and take up discussions on the devastating floods in the state which was a paramount issue.
With the government agreeing for a discussion, the Speaker said he would allot time after the Question Hour and pleaded with the Opposition to allow normal functioning of the House.
The CPI members trooped in the well of the House and staged a sit-in protest, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings for ten minutes.
