No 'material' against Minister P J Joseph : Vigilance

Kochi Aug 17 (UNI) The Vigilance Department today informed the Kerala High Court that there was no 'material' against PWD Minister P J Joseph to indicate his involvment in the Maitri Housing Scheme scam.

In a statement filed by Vigilance Addl DGP Siby Mathew on a writ petition filed by Palakkad Municipal Councillor P V Rajesh, it has been stated that Vigilance Enquiry is proceeding on the matter and only the involvment of Revenue, Panchayat and Housing Board officials was indicated.

In another statement filed by the Joint Secretary of Housing Department it was submitted that Special Audit and Inspection Wing of Finance Department is also conducting enquiry into the allegations.

The statements had been filed on a writ petition filed by Palakkad Municipal Councellor P V Rajesh alleging that the government was adopting an indifferent attitude in taking action against the person responsible for the irregularities.

The matter will be taken up by the court next week.
