Navy and Coast Guards to inspect suspected explosives
Mumbai, Aug 17 (UNI) The Alibaug police today sought help from the Navy and the Coast guards in order to determine the exact nature of the contents of the two boxes allegedly containing explosives recovered near Mandwa Digori village in Raigad district of Maharashtra.
Raigad police officials told UNI over phone that two iron boxes were found floating in the sea near Mandwa Digori village by the Alibaug police yesterday. The duty officer further informed that some thing was written on the boxes which was not clearly visible.
He said a bomb disposal squad (BDS) from Thane was called in for inspection. After inspecting the boxes, they returned to Thane. Now help was sought from the Navy and the Coast Guards, he disclosed.
Alibaug police was conducting further investigatins in the matter, he added.
