National Surgical Update in B'lore from Aug 21-25
Bangalore, Aug 17 (UNI) The International College of Surgeons (India Section) will organise a five-day National Surgical Update in the city from August 21.
In a release here, Association of Surgeons of India President K S Gopinath said the principles and practice of surgery were undergoing rapid change due to innovative techniques, modern technology and better understanding of the disease process and the event was being organised keeping this in mind.
He said the scientific programme would include live operative demonstrations, teleconferences from various centres from within the country and abroad, and panel discussions on current topics. All the major surgical specialities like gastrointestinal, cancer, plastic, pediatric, urology, vascular and laparoscopic (key hole surgery) would be covered.
This academic exercise aimed at young practicing surgeons and senior postgraduates would help them update their knowledge and surgical skills.
