Jamuna moots all-party committees

Bhopal, Aug 17 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi has demanded that the state government immediately form all-party committees at district and state levels to review rescue and relief work in flood-affected areas.

''I expect the chief minister to rise above party sentiments and work after taking every party's representative into confidence vis-a-vis distribution of relief,'' the tribal leader said in a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Copies of the missive were released to the press today.

''The Congress will endeavour to requisition maximum assistance from the Centre but the state government must first utilise its emergency relief fund in extending aid to the affected. I am receiving complaints of discrimination in relief work, survey and distribution of finances. I will soon visit affected areas,'' Ms Devi added.
