Harikrishna avenges defeat, becomes U-20 world Rapid Chess champion
Mainz, Germany, Aug 17 (UNI) Grandmaster P Harikrishna won four consecutive games against Akrdij Naditischin of Germany in under-20 Chess 960 to become world Rapid Chess champion here.
Playing with white, Harikrishna hardly put a foot wrong as he thrashed the German Grandmaster in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth games yesterday to finish one point ahead of his opponent's 3.5 points.
The Indian Grandmaster had earlier lost the first, second and fourth games and drew the third, but raised his game b several notches to outplay his opponent and claim the world title.
