Former Panchayat Raj DEE convicted

Hyderabad, Aug 17 (UNI)The Principal Special Judge for ACB cases, here has convicted and sentenced former Deputy Executive Engineer, (DEE) of Panchayat Raj department Warangal to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 18 months in a corruption case.

The Judge also slapped a fine of Rs 5000 for the offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act and in default to suffer three months simple imprisonment, a release from the ACB said here today.

The ACB had registered a case in October 1994 against him for possession of assets disproportionate to is known sources of income to the tune of Rs 11.20 lakh, the release added.
