Five women refugees feared drown

Rameswaram, Aug 17 (UNI) Five Sri Lankan Tamil refugees were feared drowned in mid sea enroute to Rameswaram, following a boat capsize due to rough weather.

Official sources told UNI here that, out of the 11 refugees from Talaimannar in Jaffna Penninsula, six of them managed to reach the shore at Dhanuskodi.

According to them the missing refugees were women and their names were Punithavayal, Niroshini, Therasa, Niroka and Beatuifa.

Dhanuskodi Police had began a search for the missing refugees, the sources added.
