Findings of suspected boxes yet to come out: Navy

Mumbai, Aug 17 (UNI) The Navy and Coast Guards who were called in earlier today to examine the two suspected boxes seized by the Alibaug police are yet to come out with their findings, Indian Navy PRO Captain A M Lamhate here said.

Police at Alibaug had recovered two boxes suspected to be laden with explosives near Mandwa Digori village in Raigad district of Maharashtra.

Police at Raigad told UNI over phone that two iron boxes were found floating in the sea near Mandwa Digori villag by the Alibaug police yesterday. The duty officer further said something was written on the boxes which was not legible.

A bomb disposal squad (BDS) from Thane was also called in for inspection.

Alibaug police is conducting further investigations in to the matter, police added.
