Entry of educated youth in politics bring change in leadership
Jalandhar, Aug 17 (UNI) President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam today suggested that entry of honest and educated youths in politics could bring qualitative change in the country's leadership.
Responding to the question from a student during interaction in Kanya Mahavidhyalaya here, Dr Kalam said that good students and honest youths could prove to be good political leaders also.
The President appreciated the concern expressed by a questioner over uproar and pandemonium in Parliament and said that he would convey the message to the members.
However, when the president inquired about the choice of the students about their career only a few expressed their willingness to choose politics as career. Most of the students wanted to become teachers while a good number were willing to opt for medical or technological courses.
Dr Kalam also said that in his childhood days when he was studying in class five, he used to earn by distributing newspapers in Rameshwaram.
The President said that he used to work in a planned manner right from early in the morning.
His daily routine included tution class, school, newspaper distribution and regular classes for learning lessons of the Quran.
He expressed satisfaction that now several universties in the country are offering learning with earning courses.
