Dr Kalam helps unite Indo-Pak lovers

Indore, Aug 17 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam helped unite city-based Sandeep Sharma with his beloved Desiree Anthony, a Pakistani.

Sandeep fell head over heels in love with Karachi's Desiree Anthony while e-chatting with the lady who is now his better half thanks to Dr Kalam.

When attempts to secure a visa for Desiree failed, the couple urged the renowned scientist's intervention and the visa was obtained on July 19.

Sandeep proposed to Desiree even before seeing her in person.

However, the lady had asked for some time to decide on the cardinal issue and eventually decided to accept Sandeep. Last year, they successfully convinced their families.

The chats began on July 4, 2003 and in December 2004 photographs were exchanged. In February 2006, the families met at a Kalka temple in Nepal where the marriage was solemnised. On August 15, a second wedding took place at the local red Church as per Christian tradition.
