Digvijay Singh assures support to Muslims

Hyderabad, Aug 17 (UNI) AICC general secretary and Andhra Pradesh incharge Digvijay Singh today extended central and state support to the minority community in the state.

Meeting Muslim religious leaders here at the residence of Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir, he said the government was committed to the uplift of minorities both socially and economically.

He said the minorities had a right to modern education, protection and employment under the Constitution of India.

Minister Shabbir said the government was waiting to implement the five per cent quota meant for Muslims pending before the court.
