CPI leader raises kerosene, LPG price hike issue
New Delhi, Aug 17: CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta today raised in Lok Sabha the issue of Prime Minister's speech on the Independence day where he said ''the prices of Kerosene and LPG have not been raised for quite a long time but how long the country could bear this subsidy''.
Mr Dasgupta said it is a direct reference by the Prime Minister for a possible rise in price of the items of mass consumption.
Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who was in the Chair, did not allow him to complete his statement and adjourned the house till 1400 hours.
Though Mr Dasgupta tried to complete his points the Speaker maintained that he has already adjourned the house for lunch.
