BSNL employees join strike in Tripura

Agartala, Aug 17 (UNI) Telephony services were affected in Tripura today following a day-long hunger strike by the BSNL employees in response to a nation-wide call to press for their 25-charter of demands.

The agitation was to press for an early settlement of the demands including removal of anomalies in salary, increase pay for grade 3 and 4 employees, recruitment in grade 3 and 4, among others.

The agitation was called by the United Forum of BSNL, which began at 10 am.
