BSF to take up missing toddlers case with BDR in Shillong

Shillong, Aug 17 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) has decided to take up the issue of the two abducted schoolgoing children in Meghalaya during the conference with its Bangladeshi counterpart to be held here on August 26.

Inspector General of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland (AMM&N) frontier Jyoti Prakash Sinha told reporters here that the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) has assured full cooperation in tracking the missing kids.

The BDR has asked its counterpart to hand over photographs of the two missing children and to assist them in carrying out search operations in their country.

Both Sanchit and Harsha Goel, about four-years-old, were abducted for ransom on August 2 by their driver Rudal Shah alias Amar Behari while they were being dropped to school.

Shah was immediately detained by the police and is being interrogated. However, the police is yet to ascertain the whereabouts of the school children.

Police has said that the manhunt is still on to rescue the two toddlers.

Earlier, a massive rally was taken out by students of various schools here urging the government to ensure the speedy release of the two children.
