Bravo blunder gives Colombia late win over Chile
SANTIAGO, Aug 17 (Reuters) Colombia's Elkin Soto pounced on a late error by Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo to earn his side a 2-1 win in a friendly.
Chile, unbeaten in their last seven games, began full of confidence and looked lively with the talented young trio of Matias Fernandez, Luis Jimenez and Jorge Valdivia yesterday.
The home side missed an excellent chance in the 23rd minute when Colombia goalkeeper Julian Viafara parried a Fernandez free kick but Ricardo Rojas fired the rebound over.
Leider Preciado, a survivor from Colombia's 1998 World Cup team, header the visitors in front in the 68th minute but Chile levelled with eight minutes to go with a penalty won and converted by forward Humberto Suazo.
The visitors snatched the winner two minutes from time when Chile keeper Bravo flapped at a cross and allowed striker Soto to score a tap-in.
