BJP to take Mulayam govt head-on during UP assembly session

Lucknow, Aug 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh BJP today announced to take the Mulayam Singh Yadav government head on in the coming assembly session on the latter's clean chit to the banned SIMI.

''We will raise the issue forecefully during the session and not allow the House to run, if the government is not forthcoimng with its explanation,'' senior BJP leader and leader of the opposition in the state assembly Lalji Tandon told reporters here.

He alleged that every terrorist arrested in the country had links with Lucknow in some way or other. ''The meassage goes that the present dispensation is giving protection to undesired elements,''] he maintained.

BJP, which today boycotted the all-party meeting convened by chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav ahead of the monsoon session of state legislature, would demand clarification from the Samajwadi Party-led government how had it given clean chit to an organisation like Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), whose involvement was even found in recent Mumbai blasts, Mr Tandon said.

The senior BJP leader alleged two prominent members of the ruling party were giving patronage to illegal Bangladesh migrants.''BJP would not tolerate it and expose them,'' he warned.
