Bharat Ratna Bismillah Khan hospitalised

Varanasi, Aug 17: Bharat Ratna shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan was admitted to the Heritage Hospital here this morning for the treatment of weakness and potassium, calcium and protein deficiency.

The 92-year-old shehnai legend was brought in an ambulance from his Harha Sarai residence to the private hospital in Lanka area of the city, sources said.

Doctors D K Sinha and A K Pandey are attending to the ailing musician, hospital sources said.

The first medical bulletin about Khan sahib's condition will be issued at 1400 hours.
