AWWA to organise Khadi Camp in Udhampur

Jammu, Aug 17: Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Northern Command president, Kirti Kapoor will inaugurate an eight - day Khadi and Village Gramodyog Commission (KVIC) camp at Udhampur on August 21.

The camp will be held till August 28.

A large number of ex-servicemen, families and war widows are expected to attend the camp which will showcase a wide range of its products. As a special gesture, KVIC has announced thirty per cent discount on all its products. Information on training and loan facilities (through banks) has also been organized for Small Scale Industries.

An 'Ex-servicemen Helpline' has been established at Chinar Complex to address the various problems of ex-servicemen related to the issues of pension and re-employment. A team of doctors from Command Hospital has also been made available to attend to the medical problems of ex-servicemen.

Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme(ECHS) and Assured Decent Last Rites Scheme (ADLRS) will be addressed by a panel of experts from the organisation made available at the site. Free bus service has also been organized from Ramnagar, Majalta and Katra daily for the convenience of ex-servicemen and their families.
