AIADMK to protest against Bhagyaraj films in K'taka
Bangalore, Aug 17 (UNI) The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in Karnataka today decided to protest against the release of the movies of popular Tamil film actor-director Bhagyaraj for using abusive language against party supremo J Jayalalithaa.
Condemning the actor's remarks, the party adopted a resolution to this effect at its Kolar district unit workers meeting.
Bhagyaraj, who was with the AIADMK when former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran led the party, quit the Dravidian party to float his own party. As his political venture did not meet with the success he encountered in tinseldom, he wound up his party and maintained a low profile. However, ahead of the May 2006 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, he joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and campaigned for it.
The meeting thanked Ms Jayalalithaa for extending Rs one lakh financial help to the families of party cadres Muthu, Francis and Venu, who passed away recently.
