280 Lankan refugees land in Indian coast
Rameswaram, Aug 17 (UNI) The influx of Sri Lankan Tamils fleeing the war-torn island nation continued with a fresh batch of 280 landing in the Indian coast today.
Six boats ferrying the refugees reached Mandapam around 1400 hrs.
They were taken to the police station here for verification and would be shifted to refugee camps later.
They reportedly fled from Mukuntha Chathiram, Pesalai, Vavunia, Irikkampettai and Kanthaswami Koil area.
