2 dead in group clash

Ghazipur, Aug 17 (UNI) Two people were killed and four others sustained critical injuries, when two groups clashed over a minor dispute under Nonhara police station area here today.

Additional Police Superintendent Sureshvar said the incident took place, when Gauri Shankar was irrigating his field from a community handpump. The villagers became agitated when water entered their fields.

The dispute soon showballed into a full-fledged fight, in which Rajdev (50) and Jai Prakash (40) were shot dead, while Vijay Shankar (40), Hari OM (18), Avinash (12) including a woman Jokhani were brutally beaten.

A case had been registered against four persons. Cops have arrested the two accused and recovered weapons from their possession.
