SW monsoon vigorous over Guj, WB, Orissa, Konkan, Goa

Pune, Aug 16 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Gujarat Region and active in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, east Rajasthan, Konkan, Goa and Kerala.

It has been subdued over Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

Heavy to very heavy rain are likely to occur at most places in Orissa, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa.

Heavy rain are likely to occur at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, east Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and at many places in south Rajasthan.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Jharkhand, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Rayalseema and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, north Rajasthan, Telanagana, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Heavy to very heavy rain have occurred at most places in Gujarat, Konkan and Goa and at many places in Madhya Maharashtra.

Heavy rain have occurred at most places in Orissa.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Marathawada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Rain or Thundershowers have occured at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Lakshadweep and at a few places in West Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, North interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, South interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and Rayalseema.
