Rupee opens six paise strong at Rs 46.54/56/USD

Mumbai, Aug 16: The Indian currency today opened strong by six paise at Rs 46.54/56 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.62 per US Dollar, a trader in the money market said.

In the mid morning trade, rupee was trading at Rs 46.54/55 per US Dollar.

The stock market too opened in the green by 72 points and is currently trading at 11,478 points which is 159 points more from the previous close.
