Punish officials responsible for immolation : Congress

Patna, Aug 16 (UNI) The Congress today demanded stringent action against the officials whose laxity led to the death of a person who immloated himself at Gaya on Independence day after giving prior information to the authorities.

Chief spokesman of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, Prem Chandra Mishra said here that Manoj Mishra immolated himself in frustration after he did not receieve his dues from a leading dairy farm.He alleged that due to callousness of the dairy farm management and laxity of the district officials, the youth died and security personnel present on the spot did not take any step to prevent it.

Mr Mishra demanded exgratia of Rs 10 lakhs to the family members of the victim and a government job for wife of the deceased.

The Congress leader met the family members of the victim and consoled them on behalf of the party.
