Naxals unfurl black flag in Gadchiroli

Nagpur, Aug 16 (UNI) Suspected naxalites unfurled a black flag atop a government Ashramshala in a remote village of Gadchiroli district yesterday, barely hours before the Independence Day celebrations.

According to the police, a group of about 50 suspected naxalites stormed into the Government Ashramshala in Yermagad village (Mangewada) under Malewada sub-police station in Kurkheda tehsil of Gadchiroli district around 0200 hrs on Tuesday. While some held the watchman, others unfurled a black flag atop the building. They all then fled from the spot.

The headmaster made a complaint to the police after he reached the school. The police then came to the school and unfurled the tricolour just after noon. An case has been registered at Malewada sub-police station.
