Colombo, Aug 16 (UNI) The second match of the Unitech Cup triangular series featuring India and Sri Lanka was called off today due to wet outfield at the R premadasa Stadium here.

Tomorrow is the reserve day and if the weather doesn't allow a full match, the two teams will play a Twenty20 game, organisers announced today.

The tournament opener between South Africa and Sri Lanka was also washed away due to rain and had to be rescheduled for August 29.

Earlier, the sunny morning yesterday had raised the prospects of the match and it became brighter as the day progressed, allowing Team India a full practice session at the stadium.

However, things were perhaps too good to be real and heavy rain lashed the ground for four hours in the evening. The morning was not any better either and it continued to rain.

Indian captain Rahul Dravid hoped for a smooth progression of the tournament but remained skeptical about the ground conditions.

Dravid felt a heavy outfield might create problems for the match to start.
