Kumar Mangalam Birla resigns from Tata Steel

New Delhi, Aug 16: Tata Steel today said Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla has resigned from the post of director of the company.

''Mr Kumar Mangalam has tendered his resignation as a Director with effect from August 14, 2006,'' a company statement said.

Mr Birla, who is among the richest person in India and the eighth youngest billionaire outside India, is also Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group.
