Jeevan-Atlas awardnite

Kozhikode, Aug 16 (UNI) Noted film personalities and leading figures in the socio-cultural field would participate in the Atlas-Jeevan Telefestival Awardnite here on August 19.

Well-known film actors Sarat Kumar and Jayaram would be the chief guests at the function jointly organised by Atlas Jewellery and Jeevan Telecasting Corporation Ltd, Atlas group managing director M N Ramachandran told reporters here today.

Awards of July 16-August 13 Atlas-Jeevan Telefestival which telecast 48 telefilms and 31 documentaries would be announced at the awardnite, he said.

The best telefilm and documentary will be given Rs one lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively, he said adding that a jury comprising well known film director K G George, among others, would screen the entries.

Award for twenty other categories carring a total prize money of Rs 3.5 lakh would also be announced at the function, he said.

Dance troupe of Devi Chandna and 'The New Girls Band' alongwith singers Afzal, Nikhil, Nishad, Devan, Sikandar Ali and Jyotsana would enthral the audidence at the cultural extravaganza, he added.
