Intermittent rains lash Mumbai from past 24 hrs
Mumbai, Aug 16: Intermittent rains lashed the metropolis and suburbs in the past 24 hours with the Weather Bureau predicting possibility of more heavy showers.
A warning had been issued to fishermen not to venture into the sea as heavy rains were likely in the next 24 hours.
The suburbs recorded 66.8 mm of rain while capital city recorded only 6.4 mm of rainfall as per the recordings from the Weather Bureau from 0830 to 1430 hrs today.
The city recorded 13.6 mm of rain and suburbs 54.5 mm of rain till 0830 this morning.
In the suburbs which received very heavy rains in some places, low lying areas in Andheri and Jogeshwari were waterlogged upto two to three feet. Suburban trains were running about ten minutes behind schedule.
