Freak mishap kills youth

Betul, MP, Aug 16 (UNI) A 25-year-old youth was killed on the spot and two boys were injured after a makeshift flagpole came in contact with a high-tension overhead cable today in this district's Bhainsdehi tehsil headquarters, police said.

The tricolour was unfurled in the Bhainsdehi Agricultural Produce Market premises yesterday. The watchman's relative Sadashiv Narware was extracting the pipe that had served as the flagpole when it came in contact with the cable. Sadashiv's son Deepak (10) and nephew Rishi (9) were hurt while attempting to save the youth.

The children were hospitalised at Bhainsdehi.
